Next summer, probably in mid May we are planning to row the length of the Caledonian Canal. It is approximately 60 miles long, including Loch Ness, has 29 locks and 11 bridges. This will take a lot of organising, planning and some training. To test the water, so to speak I will put up some sheets and if you wish, sign up to row, tow or shore support. We would have to decide whether rowers rowed the entire length or if the rowers rowed for previously agreed distances and swopped in and out. There would be some costs involved, for accommodation and food and probably other items. The duration of the row would be approximately 3 or 4 days, depending on weather and access to the locks. If we do it once we can always do it again if there is sufficient interest. There is an account of a previous row on the SCRA website which gives you a good idea of the logistics.
