Become a Coastal Rower

Findhorn Coastal Rowing Club is a very welcoming club and encourages people of all ages (over 16) and abilities to join. We do a number of “Have a Go Rows” for people interested to come and have a row in our lovely Skiffs “Joppa” and “Mairi”.

Things to know if you want to have a go at Rowing

You don’t need to be able to swim you just need to let us know your individual ability on and in the water.

Rowing can be strenuous so please ensure you are reasonably fit and well and able to get in and out of the boat. The cox of the boat on the day will supervise the row at an appropriate level for the crew, however, please let us know of any relevant medical conditions.

You will need to sign a disclaimer prior to rowing. Everyone rows at their own risk

Wear something sensible, layers are good as they can be added or removed depending on the weather – e.g. waterproof jacket, track suit /leggings/ t shirt / shirt/ trainers or water shoes/ wellies.

You may get wet feet getting in the boat so be prepared.

Everyone has to wear a buoyancy aid which we will provide

Children can have a go if they have an adult with them and a suitable fitting buoyancy aid (The club does not have child size buoyancy aids and at the moment we do not have U16’s as part of the club)
